Best castor oil
There are lots of adulterated forms of castor oil (meaning, a lot of additives may have been included in its production), so naturally we recommend the best: Organic, cold-pressed, hexane-free castor oil (hexane is a petroleum-derived, commonly used inexpensive solvent).
Cold-pressed oils are best as the process retains more of the seed's powerful nutrients and antioxidants. Hexane-free castor oil is produced using mechanical pressing methods, ensuring a pure and natural oil without the residual solvent. If in doubt, ask your supplier for the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and Certificate of Analysis (CoA) to have a closer look at the manufacturing process. If your supplier cannot provide it, find a different, more reliable supplier.
We also suggest that castor oil be purchased in an amber-coloured, glass bottle, as otherwise it may pull plastics in to its formula.
